What are the commonly replaced parts in Whirlpool dishwashers?
When it comes to dishwasher repair, there are several common parts that often need to be replaced. Knowing these parts can help you diagnose and fix issues with your dishwasher more effectively. Here are some commonly replaced parts in a dishwasher:
- Dishwasher Door Latch: This is an important part that keeps the dishwasher door securely closed during operation. A faulty door latch can prevent the dishwasher from starting or cause it to stop mid-cycle.
- Water Inlet Valve: The water inlet valve is responsible for controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher. If it becomes clogged or damaged, it may restrict water flow or prevent water from entering the dishwasher altogether.
- Drain Pump: The drain pump is responsible for removing water from the dishwasher at the end of a cycle. A malfunctioning drain pump can lead to standing water in the dishwasher or cause drainage issues.
- Heating Element: The heating element is responsible for heating the water in the dishwasher to ensure effective cleaning and drying. If the element becomes faulty, the dishwasher may not clean dishes properly or leave them wet at the end of a cycle.
- Spray Arm: The spray arm distributes water into the dishwasher to clean the dishes. If the spray arm is clogged or damaged, it may not rotate properly, resulting in dirty dishes.
- Float Switch: The float switch monitors the water level in the dishwasher. If the water level becomes too high, it signals the dishwasher to stop filling with water. A malfunctioning float switch can cause overfilling or underfilling issues.
- Control Board: The control board serves as the brain of the dishwasher, controlling various functions and cycles. If the control board fails, it can cause the dishwasher to stop working or display error codes.
- Door Seal/Gasket: The door seal or gasket ensures a tight seal when the dishwasher door is closed. Over time, the seal can become worn or damaged, leading to leaks or inefficiencies in the dishwasher.
- Rack Rollers and Guides: These are the wheels and tracks that allow the dishwasher racks to slide in and out smoothly. If the rollers or guides become worn or broken, it can make it difficult to load or unload dishes.
- Filters: Dishwashers have various filters to trap food particles and debris during the washing cycle. If the filters become clogged or damaged, it can lead to poor cleaning performance or drainage issues.
My repair experience was wonderful! I had two gentlemen come to my home. They let me know when they would come, then when they were on their way they gave me an ETA, communicative, they listened attentively, explained the problem with the dishwasher carefully, and were very sweet with my pets and child. They also got the part in that I needed for the dishwasher quickly. Highly recommend!
Absolutely a great company. Scheduling was quick, diagnostics was done efficiently, and I was given expert advice regarding expectations in repair and aftercare.
Great experience. Repair man was highly communicative from the start. He was punctual, polite, and thorough in his work. I’d researched / troubleshooted the apparent problem with our washer before turning to professional help, and I was very satisfied to see that he checked all the possible causes of our washer’s problem, instead of simply stopping at the first obvious thing. He executed the solution quickly (replaced some parts), and we’ve had no problem so far since! And he even tested the washer after repairing it! He was also conscientious about our space, and the safety of both me and my puppy when he had to leave for a minute to grab the parts (took time to put away all his tools/ secure things). Would definitely recommend this company. This is a small company done RIGHT.
